Type Locality and Naming
From the historical name of Central Tajikistan. M.R. Dzhalilov, Yu.N. Andreev, F.Kh. Hakimov et al., 1971 (191, pp.74-75). Stratotype in the area of the village of Ravat on the right bank of the Yagnob River.
Synonym: Kuhistan Suite, Хушикатская св.
Lithology and Thickness
Green and dark gray clays with interlayers of sandstones and shell limestones. Thickness 48-100m.

Lower contact
Conformably overlies the Sangrezin Fm
Upper contact
Conformably overlain by the Gezan Fm
Regional extent
Zarafshan Ridge (Mukhbel), North Central Gissar.

Contains marine bivalve mollusks - Nucula gaurdakensis Bobk., Gyrostrea turkestanensis (Born.), Korobkovitrigoonia darwaseana Rom., Cyprimeria faba Sow.; foraminifers Brotzenella berthelini (Kell.), Hedbergella tschikrysovi (Arap.).
